"PRESSING ON
WITH PASTOR ALLEN"
FEBRUARY 2010
“PRESSING ON…WITH ALLEN”

This has truly been the winter that lived up to all
the hype! So much snow, so many with flu and
sickness and “closings” galore! The good news for
all of us is this spring just has to be right around
the corner. There is a light at the end of the tunnel,
a ray of hope shining through the snow and clouds.
With the promise of spring comes the hope of
Easter, the anticipation of “Sunrise Services” and
children playing “Upward Soccer” on fields of
green and white! Very soon we will be mowing the
grass, planning outdoor projects and thinking about
summer vacations.
No matter what comes our way, from season to
season, through snow and sunshine, it is good to
know that God is aware and still in control! His
word tells us that “there is a season for everything
under heaven,” “ into every life a little rain (or
snow) will fall” and “it came to pass…”! We will
always have His promise that, for the Christian,
there are “better days a coming”! One day the
“son” will always shine and “There will be no
more night”! One day we can “walk on streets of
gold,” not ice, and there “will be no more sickness,
death or ever having to say goodbye, ever again”!
All the more reason to keep our heads up, keep
“pressing on” towards spring time and to know
that our Heavenly Father knows where we are and
what we are all going through! He has promised
that “One day He will return to take us all home,”
but until that day,  we must remain faithful,
obedient and true to His plan, His time and His
purpose. We are truly living through some “Lean
Times” in more ways than one, but God is still
“working in and through all things for our good and
for His glory.” His plan and desire are not to make
us “happy” always, but to make us “complete” for
eternity!

              April 2010

                          “PRESSING ON…WITH ALLEN”

I truly believe that winter is mostly behind us! Spring sunshine and
flowers have made the scene and the grass will soon need mowing! Easter is
here and soon all the children will finish another school year and wonder what
they will do all summer.

Don’t miss our “Maundy Thursday” service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 1.
There will be no dinner or programs on Wednesday the 31,  but we will have
dinner at 5:45 p.m. on the Thursday, before the service. We will also observe
communion on Thursday instead of on the first Sunday!

Easter Sunday we will start the day with “Sunrise Service” at 7:00 a.m. on
April 4, at “Forest Memorial Park”. What a wonderful way to start Easter
morning and to be reminded of the “death burial and glorious resurrection” of
our Lord and savior Jesus Christ! We will only have one service at the church
on Easter Sunday and there will be no Sunday School. Our morning service
will be at 10:00 a.m., not at 9:30 or 11:00 a.m.!

Please continue to pray for our upcoming “Upward Soccer Season”! We
currently have almost 300 children between the ages of 4 years and 8th grade
signed up to play! God has blessed us with a great opportunity through sports,
to connect with hundreds of children and their families with the gospel,
through this ministry!

God continues to bless His church with an abundance of people to love and
ministry to do! Have you found your place of service yet?
