FEBRUARY 2012 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 (KJV) Most of us (at least some of the time) have gotten pretty good at making sure our WORDS are acceptable not only in the sight of Christ but also in the sight of others. We’ve learned that words spoken at the right time can have great benefit and words spoken at the wrong time can bring much pain. Those of us who have matured with age or at the hands of experience have learned (sometimes the hard way) that spoken words are NEVER PRIVATE and so we guard our words and closely examine them before we speak. This is one of life’s great lessons and one we should be teaching to our youth. But what about our heart? What is in our heart IS PRIVATE. Are those thoughts, images and opinions of others acceptable to our God? Do the things we meditate upon and allow into our deepest self bring a smile to the face of our Father? February is the month of Love. Keep speaking those loving, uplifting and encouraging words to family and friends and use this month to examine your heart. Look deep down inside and allow your Lord, your strength and your redeemer to purge your heart so that everything inside is acceptable in His sight! Pastor Tracy |
